IMPORTANT NOTE:

Dear Students and Faculty,

The student application portal for the 2026 UPRISE Cohort will open on January 2, 2026

The deadline for COMPLETE student applications to the 2026 UPRISE program is February 20, 2026.

Please start your application early, and provide ample time to meet with project mentors and solicit recommendation letters.

UPRISE students recieve a $6000 stipend in exchange for their 12 weeks of research effort. This stipend is disbursed through your student account and is considered an academic award. All students will be asked to register for COOP 2011 prior to the start of the program. This registration will mitigate most impacts to financial aid. However, in some cases it may still impact your financial aid package. It is YOUR responsibility to meet with the financial aid office to discuss the potential implications of the UPRISE stipend on your financial aid package--please do so before submitting your application. You can find more information about financial aid at UC through the (OneStop Student Center).
